James Farrar joins EastEnders

ICONINSIDER — James Farrar has joined ‘EastEnders’.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star will play Albert Square newcomer Zack Hudson in the BBC One soap, and the actor “can’t wait” to explore the depth to his “unpredictable troublemaker” character.
He said: “I’m thrilled to be joining ‘EastEnders’.
“As a born and bred Londoner myself, I can’t wait to bring my experience of a place I love and know to such a well-respected long running show, with such iconic characters.
“Zack certainly has a very complicated past and there is a real depth to him that I can’t wait to explore.”
The character has been described as a “lone wolf” who had a difficult childhood and is set to “ruffle a few feathers” in Walford.
Jon Sen, EastEnders’ Executive Producer, added: “James is a wonderful addition to the EastEnders cast, playing the charming rogue Zack Hudson.
“We are all excited to see James bring the character to life and there’s plenty of drama in store for him – trouble is always just round the corner…”
James will start filming later this month, and he will appear on screen as Zack in March.
The star previously played Liam Gilmore in ‘Hollyoaks’ from August 2012 to April 2013, and he has also appeared in ‘Call The Midwife’, ‘Silent Witness’ and the upcoming ‘Blank Shores’.
News of James’ casting comes just weeks after former ‘Emmerdale’ actor Ben Freeman joined the BBC One soap as Caleb, a mysterious associate of Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams).
Ben played scheming Scott Windsor on ‘Emmerdale’ between 1998 and 2007 and infamously had an affair with his stepsister Kelly Windsor (Adele Silva).
