Adam Woodyatt in talks to return to EastEnders

ICONINSIDER — Adam Woodyatt is in talks to return to ‘EastEnders’.
The 53-year-old actor left his long-serving role as Ian Beale last year but soap bosses are said to be hoping to lure him back to Albert Square with a new £300,000 deal as they are keen to fill the void that will be left when Danny Dyer departs his role as Mick Carter later this year.
And it is believed a new deal will help in Adam’s divorce negotiations with Bev Sharpe, who he split from in 2020 after 22 years.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Adam was one of the highest earners in EastEnders and there’s no doubt he’d be looking to come back on at least the same amount of money, if not more. They’re hugely keen to get him back after the massive blow of losing Danny. The belief is that if he signs it now it will mean he has to give Bev more in their divorce settlement.
“But clearly the bosses at ‘EastEnders’ need to know what’s happening.”
The BBC refused to confirm the claims.
A spokesperson simply said: “Any contract talks are pure speculation.”
Adam recently admitted he has been “loving life” since starting his hiatus on the show, with his break giving him to the time to take part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ late last year and appear in play ‘Looking Good Dead’, as well as helping a pal out in his restaurant and find the time for his hobbies.
When asked how it’s going not being Ian, he said: “I’m loving it. I’m having an absolute whale of a time.
“Because it’s not just ‘I’m A Celeb’ and the play, I’m helping a mate out in his restaurant during the summer.
“I’m just doing all the things I enjoy doing.
“I cycle most days. I’m cooking. I’m going fishing. I’m loving life.”
