Craig Revel Horwood planning NYE party

ICONINSIDER — Craig Revel Horwood is planning a “massive” New Year’s Eve party.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge had a “quiet” Christmas with his fiancé, Jonathan Myring, amid keeping busy in panto in Bristol, so is saving his celebrations for 31 December.
Asked if he is planning a traditional Christmas Day some time this week, he said: “No, we’ve decided to have a big New Year instead.
“A massive NYE party at my house, cocktails, music up full blast, fireworks in the garden, I’ll cook up a storm – the lot.
“We have our outdoor pool which we’ll heat up for a couple of days too.
“All the waifs, strays and reprobates I know are invited.”
The 57-year-old choreographer was born and raised in Australia but prefers Christmas in the UK.
Asked if he prefers Christmas here, he said: “Yes – it’s cold with the possibility of real snow!
“Christmas cards I’d get in Australia had Santa on them with snow and I’d think, how is that possible when we’re having prawns on the beach, in the sun.
“It’s a fantasy, that we all think of Christmas as being in winter.
“In Australia, for 23 years I celebrated it in blazing heat.
“Some years my family would have a traditional roast and you’d be eating it and sweating like a pig.
“Totally different – Santa’s in a pair of Speedos over there.”
Meanwhile, though Craig will be away for a lot of next year in a touring production of ‘Annie’, he thinks it’s “great” to be apart from Jonathan.
He told Best magazine: “He’ll drive to see me when he can, and I’ll get home some weekends.
“I think it’s great for a relationship.
“During Covid, we were stuck in each other’s pockets – it’ll be a nice break.”
