Karen Hauer and Oti Mabuse team up for virtual festival amid coronavirus

ICONINSIDER — Karen Hauer and Oti Mabuse are teaming up for a special online Home Festival.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ co-stars are coming together with dancer Marius Iepure and opera singer David Webb for a new project aimed at supporting the public with a positive virtual experience during the coronavirus pandemic.
The festival – set to air every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday – will feature workouts, makeup tutorials, baking or cookery classes, kids and adult dance classes, book readings and more.
Karen said: “Sometimes the best things come about organically and what started as something fun that we wanted to do at the weekend went down so well we decided to keep going and make it bigger and better!
“These are testing times for everyone and we wanted to bring together our collective skills and passions and make them available for the whole family to enjoy.
“We’ve got some amazing special guests coming up as well as our regular slots, so head over to our channels and join in the fun!”
People will be able to watch the activities live on each of the participant’s Instagram pages – with all four sharing the confirmed schedule and surprise guests the day before – and they will also be posted on their YouTube channels.
Oti added: “We are so excited about doing this. We did it for fun at the weekend and it’s gone down so well we wanted to continue.
“We’re inviting people to spend the day with us from their homes (living room, kitchen, bedroom, wherever you like!), get involved and there’s something to do for the whole family.
“No experience is required or money for any of these activities; just people’s time. Everything is done live and we just want to find some positivity in these hard times. Hope to see you there!”
